THE GHOST SHIP
This is a summary about chapter one of the book:
Lucy was seventeen years old and she had a special talent, she could see and talk to ghosts.
The students at Forest Park High School didn´t like Lucy and called her " Spooky Lucy" because the last Halloween party the school was full of ghosts and they wanted to talk to her and she never went to any more school parties. Lucy´s mother had plans for Lucy's summer holidays, her mum wanted her to go to Greenland with her school mates but she didn´t want to go. However, Paul Miller, a new student, changed her mind because he wanted Lucy to go to the school trip.
Lucy was with the students at the Baltimore/Washington International Airport.
Lucy sat next to Paul on the plane and Helena Hoolbrock was angry because she wanted to sit next to Paul.
Lucy and Paul looked out of the window and they saw two polar bears and a sunset.
Lucy fell asleep and Paul woke her when they were landing.

The students were changing into their swimsuits, Paul was at the ship´s clinic and Lucy was on the deck, she saw the tall girl with the blue dress.Lucy talked with the girl and suddenly they heard the horn. The girl climbed up on the side of the ship, put her arms in front of her and she jumped. Lucy tried to catch it, but she couldn´t, the wind pushed Lucy and she started to fall. Then, Paul appear and tried to pull Lucy, but he couldn´t and they fell in the water.
Then, the ghost ship appear and it save they.
This is a summary about chapter three of the book: Lucy stayed on the deck with Paul and some of the boys because they hoped to see some seals. A few minutes later, they watch some seals diving from the rocks into the fiord. Suddenly, Lucy heard a strange noise outside, this noise was a sound of the ship´s horn. After that, Paul pointed out to sea and they watch a Viking ship, but this was impossible and they thought that this was a mirage. Lucy was very angry with Paul because he was laughing at her, he thought that this was a ghost ship and he can see gost,but suddenly she forgive he. A few minutes later, Paul was feeling seasick and he lied on his bed.

It tells Lucy´s story.She is a girl,she is 17 years old.She has got a secret, she can speak with ghosts.At halloween´s party,the ghosts speak with ghosts and this night was the worst forLucy.Children call Lucy"spooky Lucy".Sudenly,a new student arrives at school.His name is Paul.He sits next to Lucy and many girls want to sit next to Paul but he prefers begin with Lucy.There is a school trip and Lucy doesn´t want to go.Her mum tries to change her mind but Paul changes her mind.They go to Greenland.In the plane,Lucy sits next to Paul.They see a beautiful sunset and Lucy sleep during the flight.When they arrive Greenland Paul wakes up Lucy.

ReplyDeleteAbout those noctilucents clouds; it made me think: Can it be that have appeared these noctilucents clouds in this place for some reason to will be revealed in the story? Or is it something that normally occurs near the Arctic and Antarctic?

CHAPETER 1

Lucy's mother was worried because her daughter didn´t have any friends. In the halloween party of her school there was a lot of ghosts and lucy wasn´t well.
Paul Miller, a new boy of her shcool liked Lucy because she was intelligent and good-looking.
Lucy went a school excursion in the summer whith Paul.
In the screens above the seats there were televisions and they showed a documentary about Greenland. Time later, Lucy closed her eyes and fell asleep, two hours later Paul woke her. They were landing in Greenland.

This is a summary about chapter two of the book: Lucy and her classmates sailed along Eric´s Fiord , Eric the Red was a viking explorer, he stopped at the part of the fiord and built a home on the other side of the river.
ReplyDeleteAll the students shaired a cabin and Helena Hoolbrock was very angry with Lucy because she asked to be in a cabin with Megan and Helena wasn´t with Megan.
The next morning, on the ship´s deck there were a Norwegian couple with two children and a tall girl in a long, blue dress and a quiet English lady.
Lucy thought that this schooltrip was a great holiday because there weren´t any ghost to bother her and she could relax and enjoy the trip.

Chapter 2 the melthing ice
ReplyDeleteThey are at Eric’s Fiord.He was a viking.Student swent to sleep in a cabin with other students.Lucy take the key of her cabin and go to the cabin.Lucy wasn´t worried because she knew that the ghosts couldn´t with her .She is very happy but when she opened the door and she sawHelen.Helen was verry angry and she left the cabin to talk with a teacher because she wanted a cabin with megan.The next morning they went to the deck.There were some people in the deck.The teachers explained them some things about global warming and the ice.Paul and Lucy were very happy to came to the trip

About the chapters 2 and 3; will the girl with the blue dress be a ghost? If so, did she see the boat that Lucy and Paul saw? Regarding Paul, I personally think that he is like Lucy, who sees ghosts. He saw the same boat as Lucy and I think that that boat is a ghost boat. However, I don’t know why that girl is in the same ship that Paul and Lucy, instead of in the ghost ship.

ReplyDeleteLucy is on the deck, she is wathing a mirage.When she wasn't able to seeit.She went to her cabin.On the corridor there was a figure of an old man whith white clothes.She thinks that he is a ghost.The old man says to Lucy:I don't know where my cabin is ,Can you help me ?.Lucy went up from the stairs.She asked to the figure but it wasn't next to Lucy.She went to her cabin.
Next day Paul goes to the dinning room.He seats next to Lucy.He takes an egg but he can't eat it.The teacher goes to their table.He says to Paul that he should go to the doctor and he couldn't go swimming.Lucy said she would whith Paul on the boat.Paul went to doctor doctor and Lucy went to her cabin .In the corridor there was a figure.It was the old man.Then a girl come to look for the father.Lucy realised he wasn't a ghost.
This a summary about chapter four of the book:
ReplyDeleteWhen Lucy went to her cabin,the lights on the stairs went out and Lucy heard a voice,there was an old man in white pyjamas, it was a ghost. He couldn´t find his cabin and Lucy try to help him.
Then, they went downstairs and the figure followed her along the corridor, suddenly the ghost left.
The next day, Paul wasn´t feeling better and he couldn´t go to hot springs with his classmates but Lucy stayed with he. When Lucy went to search a blanket, she saw the old man and suddenly the lights went out again and a hand touched Lucy´s arm but she can´t feel the ghost´s hand and now she felt it,that was strange. The lights came back and Lucy saw a woman, she was the daughter of the old man. The woman take his father and they went to their cabin.
Lucy was very confused because she didn´t know what was happen.

chapter 5 .On the Viking Ship
ReplyDeleteLucy gave Paul a blanket and then she went to the deck.There was a girl with a blue dress.She talked with Lucy.The girl jumped into the sea and Lucy tried to catch her but she couldn't.She fell down too.He cuuldn't swim and Lucy helped him.They thougt they had died,the pasangers couldn't see them.Next an enourmus Viking ship saved them.There wasn't anybody.The ship had a lot of things.And Lucy and Paul thought that their class mates would never find them , and they would die in this ship.
Chapter 6 Freydis
ReplyDeleteThey were on the ghost ship,Paul had a temperatura and was cold.They were sitting with a blanket.Then,a girl with a blue dress appeard.Paul thought it was because of the temperatura.It was the ghost Lucy saw.He didn’t belive her.The ame of the girl was Freydis.Lucy read a book,in this book she was Eric the Red ‘s daughter .They Heard a noise.They went to the deck .Eric the Red was angry.He didn’t know Paul and Lucy but Freydis wanted to be with them.And Eric the Red invited them to stay in his boat.Lucy and Paul didn’t want to stay in this boat they wanted to return their boat.But Eric was angry if they weren’t with her daughter Freydis.

ReplyDeleteLucy and Paul were in a warmer place on the ghost ship. Paul have got a temperature and Lucy was worried.
Suddenly, there was a loud noise, it was the same horn that they heard on the cruise ship, but this was much louder.
When they looked through the door they watch a girl with the blue dress, she was a ghost, her name was Freydis and she was the daughter of Eric the Red, a famous Viking.
Suddenly, they heard the horn again and Eric the Red appear with his warriors.
Lucy and Paul were frightening because they were prisioners on a ghost ship with many ghosts.

ReplyDeleteRegarding Chapter 4, at first I thought the man was a real ghost and I thought Paul was not really ill; but I was wrong, because the man was a real man, and in chapter 5 we can see that Paul is really sick. This chapter made me thinks who pulled them out of the water. In Chapter 6, I ask me, why there are some towels of the cruise on the Viking ship; and also makes me think that maybe Paul is the same as Lucy, because both saw Freydis and both saw Eric the Red with his warriors. I also got scared when Eric said that they couldn’t leave the boat.

chapter 8 ERIC'S STORY
ReplyDeleteFreydis sterted to tell Lucy and Paul her family's history.Eric and Freydis lived in Iceland .Her father killed two people and then there was an illness and a lot of people died.They died too.But Eric had got a punishment for killing the men.They had to stay in this boat until the ice disappeard.That is the reason because Eric want the ice to disappear.When Eric saw this fiord and this island.He went to Island saying that this was a beautiful island called Greenland.People thought this island were green and when they come to this place the wew angry and they went out the Island .Now Thor decided to punish Eric for killing and for lying the people.

ReplyDeleteWhen the wind blew the ship,the ghost are disappearing but Paul and Lucy could heard their voices.
Some time later,Paul saw an island and he wanted to leave the ship before the ghosts appear again.But, there was too late, the Viking warriors and Eric the Red appeared in front of them.
Eric was very happy because he discovered a new island, he thought that the Anglo- Saxons will bring they bad luck, and he decided to tie Paul and Lucy at the back of the ship.
Suddenly,Freydis appeared next to them, and she gave Lucy a necklace with a metal cross, she thought that it will protect us, but Lucy couldn´t let Eric the Red see it.
Chapter 8: Eric´s Story
Eric the Red blew the horn again and the sound became louder and louder, he was calling the Viking God, Thor, because Eric was trying to melt the ice,it was necesary to returned to their home.
Paul explained that he isn´t melting the ice,people was that destroying the atmosphere with their chemicals and fuels,and they are making the climate warmer.
Freydis told us the story of her father:
"In the past,her father lived in Iceland, but he didn´t want to stay there because he fought two men and killed them, so he left Iceland on a ship and travelled west.He arrived at an enormous island and he built a farm there.
They couldn´t go home,Thor decided to punish her father because he lied. They could return home if Greenland becomes green."
